a birthday, temple dates, and car selfies.

yesterday mr braden king turned 19 years old.

I had full intentions of waking him up at 8 a.m. with breakfast in bed, until I was wide awake all night and finally fell asleep at 7:30. Oops. but I did get to spend the afternoon with him and hand deliver his favorite lunch, along with a bunch of treats for him to pack for his lake Powell trip and some other fun gifts.

later me and my sisters and my mama headed up to the draper temple, they did a session and I did baptisms for the dead, it's been over a year since I last went to the temple, no idea why i haven't made time for it, it's such a good place to be. the spirit is a wonderful thing.

and then day ended with late night car selfies of course.

swimming, surgery, and camp.

*****i wrote this two weeks ago then never posted it because i rock *****

tuesday i went in for surgery on this broken toe of mine (crossing fingers healing goes quickly from here) but with monday being my last free day on my foot, i wanted to do something fun and worth while! so my and my mom, and my sisters took little pais to the lindon pool, oh she loves water and had such a blast, so fun to just watch her on cloud 9,  i sure love that little munchkin.

then early tuesday morning at 6:15 I headed in for my surgery, long story short i broke my toe back in april, never really stopped dancing on it, resulting in floating bones in my toe that were never going to heal on their own, so the doctor had to remove these bones, and reattach my tendons.

*obviously had to get the photo shoot in first*

i woke up from the anethesia a little after 9 completely distraught that i had missed all of practice that morning, i cried a lot, and went on and on about how "all the girls are so tired right now, and they've been working so hard all morning, and i shouldn't of just slept all of practice" as soon as I calmed down i then spent a while laughing my guts off talking about if they accidnetly amputated my toe
"i wouldn't even be mad or sad because it would just be funny." bless my heart.

all of tuesday and wednesday were spent on my couch, keeping my foot elevated and iced, I guess not being able to walk has it's perks, no one can say no when you ask them to do stuff for you! but i just about went stir crazy, it's a good thing I have good friends who would come talk to me and watch movies with me, plus i still have 2 and a half seasons of gossip girl left to watch on Netflix, and you can never take too many naps. perk #2 of toe surgery: cute casts.

thursday at 5:55 a.m. i headed off for drill camp. longest, most tiring 3 days of my life. can't believe i am a senior and this was my last and final BDT camp.

camp this year was a bit different, i sat in my wheel chair at the front of the gym watching and trying my hardest to learn choreography from up there, i got down to stretch, and do sit ups, but that about reaches the extent of what i could do. it was hard to sit and watch, i would've loved to be dancing. but the rest i am forcing upon myself will be worth it when i'm dancing again sooner then later.

grateful for my amazing supportive team and coaches. couldn't of lasted this crazy week without them.

cabin weekend

saturday morning after all the fourth of july festivities my family headed up to grandpas cabin, it's little and dusty, not one of those big luxurious cabins most people have, it's not a "vacation" spot, it's much more of a camping trip, and although i'm a girly girl and being dusty isn't super comfortable to me, i'll always have a love for the mountains & camping, and there's always going to be a special spot in my heart for this cabin, after all it was built by my grandpa, and some of my favorite childhood memories took place here.

cute isn't it? our time up here is spent riding the four wheeler, going on walks, throwing rocks into one of the near by lakes, watching movies, playing board games as a family, sitting around the camp fire, exploring, sitting on the deck reading,
you get the point, It's relaxing and always gives us a break from cell phones and reality. plus, what is better then loads of down time surrounded by family? especially with little pais on tow to keep us entertained.

new beginings

i've copied and re-posted my two latest posts from the last blog onto this new blog just so i could have something to start from, but i decided i should 'start' properly as well.

this summer i've had the re-occurring urge to "clean out" my "life." for example, going through pinterest boards and deleting all the pins i no longer wanted or needed, or deleting a board all together and starting over on it, simply cleaning out desk draws, throwing stuff away, reorganizing my closet, ect.
and now here i am "cleaning out my blog"
reason no. 1: because the old blog was titled crazy beautiful life. that title was inspired by a ke$ha song. yes i just said ke$ha. bless my heart.
reason no. 2: most of those posts were from eighth grade. pukey.
so here i am with the new blog, to tell you a bit about myself.
i am Courtney, 17 years old and heading into my senior year of high school. i'm 5"00 tall and unfortunately done growing, itty bitty. i have big eyes that look prettiest (super green) to me after i've been crying, lucky for me i cry a lot because i'm a super emotional girl. i hardly have free time (except for summer) majority of the 24 hours i'm given each day i chose to spend dancing, it keeps me busy but i can't complain because it's something i feel so passionate about, and i'm happy while i'm doing it. i also love cuddling my cat, her name is mable, but she'd prefer to scratch faces or drink milk then to cuddle. i'm a happy aunt of little miss paisley fox, she is a such a sassy little girl but i completely adore her. thinking of my future kids, husband, family, and traditions is what motivates me, i can't wait to see what my future has in store, in fact i often forget to settle down and enjoy the easy life of being a teen. that's about it, thanks for stopping by, follow me and stay awhile.

more photo's from the past months that I've been missing from this blog. because i know you guys were all dying to see them.

i'm back

*****copied from last blog*****

As summertime has rolled around, and I have all the free time in the world, I've read more blog posts then i'd like to openly admit too. and it often leaves me feeling inspired, so why not try blogging again? (no guarantees I actually keep it going this time...just like every other time I've tried)
last blog post was back in September, almost a whole year ago, and oh so much has happened, so i'll fill you in through photos.

Halloween

dance company, drill, studio, and solo rehearsal's, performance's, and competitions. lets be real here, majority of my life is spent dancing.

the holidays. which also included getting my wisdom teeth out 2 days before christmas. talk about disappointment when i couldn't participate in our "christmas eve dinner at in-n-out burger tradition"

a first birthday party for little miss paisley fox. what kind of a party would it be without a temper tantrum from the birthday girl?

sweethearts.

nationals in flordia. a vacation with my best friends, lots of dancing and tons of sun in febuary? awesome. disney world IS A DREAM. we stayed in a Disney resort and i was on cloud 9. plus, harry potter world was magical (literally) the butter beer was more then delicious, dr. suess world was the quirkiest and so fun. it was just heaven. a disney filled heaven.

a spontaneous adventure to st. George with my 3 best friends. you can call us the fab 4 because it's always a drama free time with us, and we're closer then you could imagine. who knows how we survived a whole 4 days alone with no supervision. but it rocked.

easter sunday

prom of course. besides front flipping off a four wheeler, then having the four wheeler come down crushing me, breaking my helmet and possibly giving me a minor concussion, prom seriously rocked. i had the best date and the best group.

harry potter spirit bowl. my day at hogwarts then better then i could've ever imagined. something about wearing my little brothers church shirt, a tie, a navy skirt, calf socks, and little white converse made me wish i went to a private school with uniforms. i had a half wizard half upper  east side gossip girl feeling all day and it rocked.

lastly graduation. such a bitter sweet day. just like last year, all my best friends are seniors, especially all the dance company and drill seniors. i'm so close with all of them, and i don't even want to think about next school year without them all, but i'm so excited as they get on with exciting things in their lives.

until next time friends.
