#TheFamily

yesterday marked 20 years since Gordon B. Hinckley read The Family: A Proclamation to the World.
this is more important then ever before, and i'm sure as the future continues this document will become more and more necessary to rely on. yesterday as i was reading in Alma 31 i came across verse 17, which says "But thou art the same yesterday, today, and forever........ we may not be led away after the foolish traditions of our brethren which doth bind them down" what a perfect day for me to read this verse. the gospel has never, and will never change. the Lord has set standards that he will not lower to meet with the rest of the world. i know everyone is faced with trial and temptation and i know that trial and temptation are increasing as the days go on; but i also know that the Lord doesn't want us to use our temptations as an excuse to live outside of his standards. there is nothing we can't overcome. marriage between man and woman is ordained of God, it is an essential part of his plan for us.

while the rest of the world may not agree, we don't need to follow them. following the world results in us being bound down by satan. rely on Christ. allow whatever small amount of faith or hope you have inside you to grow into a deep rooted testimony, you will need it as this world progresses further and further into their "own ways."
